|Paula Fan, piano|
Pianist Paula Fan has performed as soloist and chamber musician on five continents, and as one of the first recipients of the doctoral degree in Accompanying, has lectured on the subject worldwide. Dr. Fan has recorded extensively and has broadcast for the BBC, America’s National Public Radio, Australia’s A.B.C., Radio Television China and other international stations. She has coached and accompanied singers from the world's great opera houses, and, as chamber musician, has performed at numerous international festivals. Her interdisciplinary interests have been the catalyst for her series of “Time Travelers Concerts,” in which musicians appear as historical figures who both converse and perform. A committed Earthwatch volunteer, she is passionate about bridging the gap between the scientific and musical worlds and is a founding member of the Solar Storytellers, a solar powered piano trio sponsored by the Arizona Research Institute for Solar Energy. Paula Fan is pianist with the Tucson Symphony Orchestra and a Regents' Professor at the University of Arizona School of Music.
The dynamic musical partnership of Steven Moeckel and Paula Fan has been delighting audiences since the two met in Tucson, Arizona in 2002. As Duo Amabile, they have received rave reviews for their passionate and virtuosic performances in Europe and the Americas, and for the sheer joy of their music making. This is their third recording together.
