“The full range of a violin's capacities seems to have been exploited. When beauty and fullness of tone was a requirement, as during a lovely, playful Sonatina-Spring 1967 , that aspect of violin playing was very much present. When slashes, squeaks and rasps were the needs of the moment, as during much of Freund's 1988 Life Goes On, for Violin and Piano, Moeckel also obliged. He's a well trained and versatile violinist, by now apparently not phased by much that might be thrown his way.”
